Place standard activity

Overview

Every year, we open this activity to ask our residents to assess their experience of living in Arlen Hill on a scale of 1 to 7. This helps us to identify which areas we are succeeding in, and which areas we could work to improve on. The activity consists of 14 questions based on the below topics:

• Moving around
• Public transport 
• Traffic and parking
• Streets and green spaces
• Natural space 
• Play and recreation 
• Facilities and amenities 
• Work and local economy 
• Housing and community 
• Social contact 
• Identity and belonging 
• Feeling safe
• Care and maintenance 
• Influence and sense of control 

This is based on the Place Standard methodology and allows us to compare how residents feel about these aspects over time to see if we are improving.

We have seen vast improvements in: feelings of safety; moving around; work and local economy; and social contact, since 2020. We are determined to reach ratings of 6's and 7's for every element by 2030.
